Early life Born on April 24, 1973 in Rajapur to a Marathi Brahmin family, Sachin's father Ramesh Tendulkar named him Varun Sachin after his favorite musician Sachin Dev Burman.
His elder brother Ajit Tendulkar encouraged Sachin to play cricket. Sachin Tendulkar was married to Anjali Tendulkar in 1995. Tendulkar has two children, Sara and Arjun.
